Ka Hua‘olelo Hawai’i (The Hawaiian Word) The Hawaiian word is ho'ohiki. Ho'ohiki means to promise.

Message From Our Chief Executive Officer

Aloha mai kakou,

The Hawaiian word is ho'ohiki. Ho'ohiki means to promise. At MEO we live by the Promise of Community Action where we promise to help people, change lives and make the community we live in a better place. Right know we are hearing a lot of politicians promising lots of things. Ho'ohiki literally means to cause to come or appear. 'Olelo ho'ohiki is a promise, so when the candidates get elected we occasionally need to remember the 'olelo ho'ohiki they've made to support the clients we serve and funding to MEO help them.
