Performs general construction duties to prepare area and materials for workshops at the Ke Kahua project site. Provides material and cost lists and estimates. Prepares material for use in inclusive of measuring, making and cutting. Fabricates material to facilitate program workshops such as building benches, work tables, etc. Collects data and maintains records. Maintains open communication with program manager, staff, volunteers, and community partners. Promotes and maintains safety culture for staff, volunteers and clients. Ability to use various woods and other building materials and perform rough finish carpentry work. Ability to apply concepts, terminology; safely operate tools and machines of the carpentry Trade, safely lift and carry heavy tools and materials, and climb ladders and work at heights. Oversees, administers and manages the National Farm worker Jobs Program (NFJP). Plans, implements and evaluates programs to ensure program objectives are met. Supervises and trains program staff to ensure client outcomes are documented and reported correctly. Develops and maintains relationships with employers to assist with identifying farm workers who are eligible for the program. Conducts outreach and oversees the recruitment of farm workers. Ensures clients are offered training opportunities that will assist them in obtaining permanent employment, higher paying jobs, and improve their overall living conditions. Previous experience managing an employment and training or similar type of program. Experience in program planning and reporting; financial management, planning and reporting, budget preparation, and grant writing and reporting. Working knowledge of customer service, interviewing techniques and public relations. Working knowledge of computer applications, to include desktop applications.
